Kindle reader coming for Mac

Amazon says Kindle reader coming for Mac, too | Software | MacUser | Macworld
About time. Not only that I hope it gets released in Canada as well.
Decision Time
I am again at a point where I need to choose a future blogging platform for my blog. I had been debating about going with Typepad, Tumblr or staying with my existing blog with Blogger. In terms of ease of posting and maintaining I found Tumblr to be the best. Unfortunately, my posts on Tumblr are hardly searchable on Google; perhaps due to SEO issues Tumblr is said to suffer from. Typepad, I find also rates high in terms of ease of posting/maintaining and at the same time seems to be much more SEO friendly. There is a small fee to pay to maintain a blog with Typepad but that's okay; it's not like I need to break the bank or something.
Blogger and Wordpress are the free ones. While free to use, I typically find that I spend more time maintaining them than I would like. I spend considerably less time on maintenance when using Typepad and that's certainly value added.

Panasonic DMC-LX3 Canon Powershot S90
Friday, September 18, 2009
The Canon S90 looks more pocketable. With Panasonic watching what Canon is doing here with the S90, I hope they have something up their sleeve with the LX4.

Dropbox Support for OurDoings Photo-Sharing Site
Friday, September 11, 2009
The creator of OurDoings photo sharing site emailed me this morning telling me that OurDoings now supports uploads from Dropbox. For a moment I was wondering what was going on. But it then dawned on me as I continued reading his email that this was potentially big; at least for people who love to take photos and value their time dearly.
I have to give a bit of background about why I like OurDoings as a photo sharing site. The philosophy of OurDoings is that busy people who take photos don't actually have the time to upload and organize their photos into neat hierarchical albums. They'd rather 'dump' their photos somewhere and the photo-site should take care of organizing photos for them. OurDoings actually does a great job at this; it takes your photographs and based on their metadata presents them in a blog-like format organized by date. My OurDoings web-site is here.
OurDoings offers several solutions to 'dump' your photos into its website and by far the integration with Dropbox is the best I have seen and involves as few steps as possible. Initially, you create a Dropbox folder on your computer which you share with OurDoings and follow a few configuration steps. After that, all you have to do is copy your photos to this folder; the photos are automatically uploaded to OurDoings in the background, posted on your site and deleted from this folder - Voila!!
Amazingly sweet solution. It cuts the steps involved in publishing photos to the very bone. I strongly suggest giving OurDoings a shot and this upload method a try.
